Projects that fight for fair

Escape Artists North Wales

In the 13th century, English king Edward I built walls around the medieval town of Conwy.

The Escape Artists is a community organisation, which started life in 2014 as combined art project Altered Images for men in the probation system.

The organisation also runs the Still Life art groups for people who have been bereaved, which started in Conwy in October 2018, and Rhos on Sea in July 2019. This isn’t art therapy, and they aren’t counsellors, but is a chance to leave difficult feelings at the door for the couple of hours and focus on something completely different. And above all, participants don’t have to be ‘good at art’ to take part.
