Jesus College scholarship

Way back in 1571, a group of Welshmen, led by Hugh Price, treasurer of St David’s Cathedral, founded Jesus College at Oxford University.

Its first fellows were mostly Welsh lawyers. But 450 years later, economic inequality is a barrier to students from Wales reaching top universities. Where you come from shouldn’t stop you reaching your potential.

To change that narrative, Mab Gwalia provides funding for an annual scholarship for Welsh students from lower income families.  Supporting their access to studying at the college.  Encouraging a sense of life’s possibilities for young people in Wales.
